Frangible Bolt

A breakaway bolt is a safety fastener with a preset fracture feature. In the event of a collision, the force exerted on the aircraft by the breakaway rod shall not exceed 45 kN. The rod body is designed with weakened structures such as grooves. It provides reliable fastening under normal operating conditions and fractures as designed upon impact, preventing secondary damage to equipment.
